The Field beans or Vicia faba are erect-growing plants that can reach a height of 0.5 to 1.8 meters (1.6 to 6 feet), depending on the growing conditions. The stems of the Vicia faba plant are square in cross-section and often slightly hairy. The plant branches from the base, forming multiple stems. It has pink-purple flowers & The pods are long, thick, and leathery. When young, the pods are green, but they turn brown or black as they mature.
